the teacher has selected 3 magazine articles and we had to pick one and create an illustration to support it!
the article I chose was about Crystal Renn, the American fashion model; it talked about how she began her modeling career at the age of 14 after losing 70 lbs to become a size 0. the extreme dieting wasn't doing her body any good and when somebody from the agency told her she had put some weight on and should exercise more, she decided it was time to stop
but! after gaining some weight to become a size 12, she was re-marketed as a plus-size model!
since the article was really positive in the message, I decided to draw Renn as a proud and confident women at a fashion show =3
I tried to give it a woman's magazine illustration look
